    From our Aberdeen buying trip, this delightful tartan clad sedan chair is by the London maker J. Ward of Leicester Square. We have dated it to around 1885-1890. Labels to the inside of both sedan arms. They are popular for conservatories and bedrooms, sitting rooms and halls and wonderful fun for children too, portering teddy bears around the gardens on a sunny day. Very solid. They were also exported to India for the grand tour when allowing lady's to be carried over inclement terrain by their porters.
