Why? Because it is absolutely the most wild and quirky design dressed in a treacle green glaze (yes green treacle is apparently a thing) and it just sits so wonderfully on period oak furniture just as well as it does an Art Deco sideboard. Jugs and vases of this type are known as Puzzle Jugs. Condition report: minor glaze loss to arms and rim, minor chips to rim of base, Breton quatrofoil designs and circles, green glazed with darker hues and toffee browns. Restored. This design is rare and colour absolute joy. So many influences here and easily confused with Linthorpe and Castle Hedingham pottery.
